ATV
With more than 250 miles of off-road trails, the Kabetogama Lake area is gaining popularity as an ATV/UTV riding paradise. The area is home to largest ATV club in the State of Minnesota, Voyageur Country ATV, so the trail system in this neck of the woods receives a lot of support. And with so much support, the Kabetogama Lake off-road vehicle trails are constantly on the increase and becoming more and more connected.
This well-maintained system of trails is praised by visitors for its easy riding as the trails are fully mapped and signed so getting lost is hard to do. The detailed maps are perfect for planning your route and picking the stops you’d like to make. With so many miles of trails, visitors can choose to spend a full day riding or combine some riding with some of the many worthy and tasty stopovers.
The trails are designed with stops in mind, so be sure to check out some of the scenery or grab a drink or bite to eat at one of the local establishments. There’s also plenty of locations to gas up your off-road vehicle.
Of course, this OHV trail network doesn’t build itself or get created overnight, it takes hard work, organization, and cooperation. Enter Voyageur Country ATV, a group formed in 2015 from 66 area supporters that has now swelled to over 700 members, far and away the largest ATV club in the state of Minnesota. Beste, who is a co-founder, says the goal is simple, “to provide a safe and responsible experience for all who come to enjoy the trails.” Bruce continues, “we’re not a mud-park, and we promote time in the seat from folks here to enjoy all we have to share.”
EVOLUTION OF A TOP-5 ATV DESTINATION
They have reason to protect all they’ve built, with Voyageur Country ATV receiving millions of dollars to conserve and expand current operations. That’s right, what’s already an incredible resource plans to offer even more for folks looking to enjoy the outdoors. Additional phases and plans of their trail system hope to see it more than double in size by adding many more localities to the south and north of lake Kabetogama making us a nice central home base to connect to the regions trails in northern Minnesota.
The Kabetogama local businesses are big supporters of the trail system in the area. In fact, NLRO and other businesses in the area are ATV/UTV friendly. You can legally drive your licensed ATV/UTV on county and state road within the Kabetogama township since 2016.
